Tamara Howie is a freelance writer, producer and artist who calls Darwin, Australia home.

She studied Creative Arts and Industries at Charles Darwin University and come out the other end as a journalist, rather unexpectedly.

Tamara currently has her fingers in a few pies, workings as a journo at Off The Leash, and co-director of the Darwin Fringe Festival.

She has been a story producer for the Northern Territory based storytelling event Spun since 2015.

On the shameless self-promotion side of things, Tamara won a 2017 NT Media Award for Best Online Coverage with features commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin.  In 2015 her artwork earned her a place in the graduate exhibition, Hatched, at the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art.

Tamara is passionate about people from all walks of life around the globe and their stories, particularly the weird and interesting characters on the fringes of society.
